Just when Alfred seals his perfect reconciliation with Bruce with a perfect sports car, Selina invites herself to Bruce's birthday party. Alas she brings Tabitha's request to help 'heiress' Barbara Kean, who enjoys the estate and secret history, deal with Ras's al Ghul's crucial magical legacy, the Demon's head, which she can't master but gambles she may by tapping into the forces of revived Ra's, which requires Bruce's blood. Alfred devises a plan to retrieve the knife and they enter the tomb. The master is furious to see his plans altered, starting a confusing battle of wits, wishes and magic. Meanwhile the Riddler ingeniously plans a series of robberies on branches of the bank he and Lee consider exploiting the Narrows, outsmarting Penguin and Gordon.
