London's Victoria and Albert Museum will shortly be opening its Masterpieces of Chinese Painting 700-1900 exhibition, which brings together many works that have never before been seen in the UK. The Fine Art Society's Kate Bryan travels to China to learn about the country's golden age of landscape, discover why ink is still favoured over paint and find out how the artists' unique aesthetic was heavily influenced by class and politics.
