Alex investigates a burglary and assault at the home of her future in-laws - a case that brings her face to face with maybe Peter Drake, who will grow up to be her husband and Molly's father. Gene's initial lack of interest in the case ends when the fingerprints of a supposedly dead gangster are found at the scene, and he seizes the opportunity to get more positive headlines for the Met.
