The town is gripped by the fear of jitter fever, a nasty malady that affects house pets. The only way to cure it is to send the affected pets off to a quarantine shelter where they'll be fed nothing but tasteless gruel. Taffy end up swallowing a phone and Mrs. M will think he's got jitter fever. He's got to hide somewhere until the battery dies. Bentley is determined to find him, and call Mrs. M's phone as soon as he's in view.
