Salvador je zemlja s najviše ubijenih žena na svijetu. U ovoj maloljudnoj zemlji godišnje ubiju oko 500 žena. Više od polovice zlostavljanih žena uopće ne traži pomoć. Ne govore niti svojim najbližima kakve im se strahote događaju kod kuće. Istodobno, u ovoj je zemlji na snazi jedan od najrestriktivnijih zakona protiv pobačaja na svijetu.
Trudnoća se ni u kojem slučaju ne smije prekinuti. Ako žena pobaci iz neobjašnjivih razloga, automatski postaje osumnjičenica. Tko je pak upoznat s tim, a ne obavijesti nadležne, automatski postaje supočinitelj. Žene često iz bolničkih kreveta odvode ravno u pritvor. Liječnika koji obavi pobačaj čeka zatvorska kazna u trajanju od 6 do 12 godina. Žene za taj čin čeka kazna od 2 do 8 godina, no ako se to okarakterizira kao ubojstvo, čeka ih zatvorska kazna od čak 50 godina. Martyna Wojciechowska susrest će se s Morenom Herrerom, društvenom aktivisticom koja se bori za prava žena u Salvadoru.
