The story of one of the longest protests in history, when between 1981 and 2000, thousands of women from around the world came to take a stand against nuclear proliferation.
In 1981 a group of 36 women set off on a 120 mile march to peacefully protest against the planned arrival of American nuclear missiles on UK soil. This was the start of something extraordinary and these women went on to inspire the world’s first female-only demonstration, in time galvanizing over 70,000 women into action. "Mothers of the Revolution" is the untold story of this group of ordinary women who rose against patriarchal structures and stood up against the greatest political powers to protect their children and future generations. On that day in 1981, they started a global movement and a revolution that literally changed the world.
