The NCIS team is assigned to a joint terrorism task force by the Secretary when a Moscow-born scientist who it is believed may have been targeted by the Russians for selling state secrets, is found dead. The trail appears to lead to a friend of Sofia's, another scientist who worked for Russia and who may have succumbed to professional jealousy. However, when she too is found dead, the team discovers the hallmarks of Sergei Mishnev, the terrorist who nearly killed Gibbs. Starring Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly and Pauley Perrette.
