Lachlan Colston, a lieutenant in the Royal Australian Navy, is murdered on US soil, prompting Special Investigator Naomi Parsons to travel to New Orleans from Australia to investigate. Evidence mounts suggesting that Colston's death was a hired hit, but when the team moves in to apprehend the assassin, Parsons' rash actions jeopardise the arrest. Suitably humbled, the Aussie agent agrees to tow the line as Pride and his colleagues learn that Colston may have been killed to derail a nuclear programme to be established on the Cocos Islands.
