Hanno Bach is hospitalized after a bad fall, trying to deliver ransom for baby daughter Lotta. The team races to find the 500 000 Euro which got buried under snow. Hanno's wife Anke and father in law Heinrich Wittmann, who suspects an inside accomplice and alarms the police, ignore how to contact the abductors. Young kidnappers Roman Stadlhuber and Vanessa Meyer didn't count on anyone getting injured. Marcus and his team must work out the truth but despair drives Roman into trouble. Tobias is distracted as his wife finds out about his affair with foxy assistant Francesca in the family's Italian hotel.
