A Navy lieutenant on shore leave stumbles from a busy bar and runs headlong into the path of an oncoming taxi, sustaining fatal injuries. Dr Loretta Wade quickly concludes that there is more to the case than meets the eye and eventually identifies the cause of death as bubonic plague, which brings Tony DiNozzo to town, having had a brush with the disease himself.
