PëRMBLEDHJE
Oberstaatsanwalt Bernd Reuther supervises the murder of a woman who gambled big to gain a fortune on her apartment block, the last piece for a huge Wiesbaden city center mall project directed by slick, discrete real estate tycoon Andreas Amlang and his even shadier Russian mega investor Boris Welednitzkow. Schubert first examines her tenant Tim Baumann, a young father who had to move out as the rent was increased excessively after 'energetic renovation'. Her dirty tricks were exposed in a local paper by a young journalist, who anonymously also runs a blog dealing with the real estate dealings. Reuther agrees to meet a old lawyer friend, Wolfgang Esbach, who notarized most deals, but he's murdered at home and his wife, whom adult son Moritz confides is a ruthless career bitch 'behind the throne', also his suspicious Russian contacts. The first murderer, a hired martial artist, was eliminated by a fearless pro hit-man, who escapes Schubert shooting. Reuther must thread carefully to tie everything together and outsmart top level connections, without getting shot.
