Recenzije: Night Club
Two modest bank employees, Piero and Ottavio, dream of opening a finance company on their own. Hoping that Commendatore Balestrelli, an industrialist from the north, will decide to finance their project, the two agree to organize an evening for the man cheered by women. To enlist the girls, Piero or Ottavio turn to Walter Danesi, an overworked viveur.
The setting; the night in which Fred Buscaglione died, in February 1960 is good, the absence of vulgarity is good for Corbucci, but the film is flat, and minimalist "Italian-style". It does not excite but it does not disturb anyone. Corbucci will be remembered for other comedies: this time nostalgia and satire are shipwrecked in vulgarity and banality. The era and the characters are those of "La dolce vita" but Fellini is really something else.
