The Rhône, with its vast valley steeped in history. From Lyon, once the capital of the Gauls, to Mont Ventoux, the Provençal giant rising to 1,910 metres above sea-level, plus Montélimar and Carpentras, the landscapes traversed by France's most powerful river offer an extraordinary diversity.
