A story about two brothers, Max and Jake, who run over a pedestrian on a dark Edinburgh street, and find themselves in an escalating, unpredictable, comic nightmare. This is a stylish, intense drama in the spirit of Fargo and Breaking Bad, but with the edginess and uniquely Scottish absurdist humour of Trainspotting and Shallow Grave. It tells a gripping story with a firm dramatic structure and a comedic undertone driven by the characters and their flaws, fears and desperation. One wrong move at the start sets our characters off on a tangent they find impossible to correct. It's like quicksand; the more they struggle, the worse it gets. We constantly ask the viewer - which of those decisions would you have made differently? All, some or none? It's a show about moral crossroads, the guilt that comes from taking the wrong turn, and how hard it can be to find your way back.
