SYNOPSIS

Manchán Magan proučava povijest irskih šuma od prapovijesnih vremena do suvremenih komercijalnih šuma. Proučava vrste jasena i metode sječe šuma radi stvaranja poljoprivrednog zemljišta u prapovijesti. U ovoj epizodi istražujemo zašto je Irska početkom 20. stoljeća imala pošumljenost od samo 1% te kako je vlada intervenirala s pomoću projekta Avondale uvozom drveća iz inozemstva koje odgovara klimi u Irskoj. Sjajan primjer je sitkanska smreka.
