SYNOPSIS

Požar je opustošio podrum baruna De Castayraca, proizvođača armanjaka. Na zgarištu je pronađeno karbonizirano tijelo Paca Vasqueza, upravitelja podruma. Istragom su utvrdili da je došlo do ljudske pogreške.
Osiguravajuća tvrtka koja bi trebala platiti odštetu barunu De Castayracu šalje na lice mjesta Benjamina Lebela koji je ujedno enolog i sudski vještak. Benjamin utvrđuje ne samo da postoji velik nesrazmjer između barunovih brojki i njegove stručne procjene, nego i da požar nije bio slučajan. Klan Castayrac razdire bratoubilačka borba te vlada strahovita napetost. Benjamin kreće u novu utrku s vremenom kako bi otkrio istinu prije nego što se opet ne dogodi najgore.
