SYNOPSIS

Georges Seurat je cijeli svoj kratki život proveo u Parizu no uspio je odlučno nadići "romantizam" impresionističkog slikarstva i razviti vlastitu slikarsku metodu koja se temeljila na preciznim znanstvenim zakonima te je tako uveo revoluciju u sam koncept figurativne umjetnosti.
On traži poveznicu između umjetnosti i znanosti. Pristalica je poentilizma tvrdeći da ova tehnika omogućuje "veće jedinstvo" tema na slici te točniji prikaz boje i svjetla.
Tako je naslikao svoje najpoznatije slike poput Kupača kod Asnièresa ili Nedjeljnog poslijepodneva na otoku Grande Jatte.
