SYNOPSIS

U prostranoj koraljnoj laguni Malaite ribarsko pleme Lau od kamenja je izgradilo više od 50 umjetnih otoka. Baveći se pretežno ribolovom, Laui su na tim otocima bili prilično sigurni od malaitskih ljudoždera, nevičnih moru. Časte duhove predaka koji žive u morskim psima i izrađuju novac od školjaka kojima se kupuju svinje i žene.
Tragom novca - školjaka odlazimo do "repa" Papue Nove Gvineje, gdje na otocima d'Entrecasteaux još proizvode velike piroge - jedrilice za prekomorska trgovačka putovanja.
