SYNOPSIS

Quite what drove Paramount Studios to bankroll a third instalment in the "Crocodile" Dundee franchise - 13 years after the second - will be beyond anyone unlucky enough to sit through it. Characteristics that once seemed charming in star Paul Hogan (his "innocent abroad" act, outback wisdom and crocodile-hunting bravado) are now as weathered as his face. The slight story concerns a Hollywood backlot art heist uncovered by Dundee, while partner Sue (Linda Kozlowski, the real-life Mrs Hogan) is working in the LA office of her dad's mind-blowingly unrealistic newspaper. The direction is slow, bordering on the soporific and, at 62, Hogan seems to know he is too old for this schtick. Just saying "No worries, mate" no longer counts as comedy.
