The End of Lies

SYNOPSIS

The very family-oriented Susanne and her freedom-loving younger sister Mia haven't seen each other for half an eternity. Almost 15 years ago, the two experienced an exciting stay abroad in Australia. During this time, Susanne's daughter Jenny was also born. Mia decided to stay abroad and pursue a career. Susanne went back to the East German provinces with her newborn. She married Georg, the child's father, and joined her family's watch manufacture. When her mother Hilde, who was the undisputed head of the family, dies, Mia suddenly reappears in Selva, apparently for a long time. Not only does Mia interfere massively in the business of the manufactory and wrap her father Herbert around her finger, she also disturbs Susanne's family life very sensitively by allying herself with the pubescent Jenny behind Susanne's back. Susanne's fears soon become a threatening certainty and a fight breaks out between the two sisters for the happiness to which each believes they are entitled.
