SYNOPSIS

A cowardly teacher in Nazi-occupied France is secretly in love with a defiant colleague, but lacks the courage to reveal his feelings or to stand up to the invaders. However, as the resistance becomes active in the area and many townsfolk collaborate with the Germans, he becomes pushed into taking a stand.
