The Crimson Kimono

SYNOPSIS

In this oddly poignant excursion into maverick American independent director Sam Fuller's underworld - Damon Runyon with teeth - two detectives in the Little Tokyo district of Los Angeles fall for the same woman who's involved in their investigation into a stripper's murder. Characters range from the hard-boiled to the plain mushy, but Fuller's energetic methods stir up a sympathy not normally present in his other movies. This may be low-key and sometimes banal, but it's still a stylish work that could not have been tailored by anyone else.
