But a violent unrest still holds strong among the shady, paramilitary underground groups whom filmmaker Sinéad O'Shea spent five years immersing herself in to make her film. At the center of it all, an incredible and heartbreaking story of a desperate mother, her drug-addicted teenage son, and a republican resistance group who all live door by door in Derry (or Londonderry, depending on your sympathies). An undercurrent of violence and bitter resentment continues to haunt the streets and even homes of the city which became a symbolical site of struggle during 'The Troubles'.
