Eerie occurrences befog this perplexing museum mystery, in which the painting of a wealthy royalist is slashed and, shortly thereafter, the subject's distant grandson is murdered. It's up to Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby and Sergeant Gavin Troy to figure out what's afoot, but it's a difficult case, what with a myriad of suspects and some frightening ghostly occurrences that keep taking place in the darkened museum.
