SYNOPSIS

U Kanazavi je počelo leto. Sviće u pet sati ujutro. Veći deo grada, međutim, još spava. Prodavnica Takajama tofu nalazi se u gradu Kanazavi, u prefekturi Išikava. Ovde se tofu već uveliko pravi.
Vlasnik prodavnice, Koići Takajama, ima 67 godina. Tofu proizvodi proteklih skoro 50 godina. Iako je procedura uvek ista, soja je živa kultura i ne sme se nehajno obrađivati, čak ni na trenutak. Gospodin Takajama radi sve - od pravljenja tofua do njegove isporuke i sakupljanja novca. Ipak u nečemu mu je neophodna pomoć supruge. Posle doručka odlaze u grad da prodaju tofu...
