SYNOPSIS

Najstariji botanički vrt i jedini arboretum na sredozemnom dijelu Hrvatske nalazi se u istoimenom mjestu Trsteno, udaljenom petnaestak kilometara od Dubrovnika. U svom renesansnom i jedinstvenom bogatstvu sjedinjuje kulturnu i prirodnu baštinu. Osnovan je 1948. godine na prostoru povijesnog ladanjskog posjeda dubrovačke plemićke obitelji Gučetić-Gozze, a u cjelini je zakonom zaštićen kao spomenik vrtne arhitekture. Poznat je po povijesnim perivojima i po zbirci sredozemnih i egzotičnih vrsta biljaka. Djelatnost Arboretuma usmjerena je na zaštitu i održavanje kulturno-povijesnih i prirodnih znamenitosti.
