SYNOPSIS

This is the story of the first world war, known as the Great War, from 1914 -1918 told through the diaries of the people, politicians and soldiers who lived through those years. This episode sees the hell of the war ending and the final days of the battles with perspectives in Europe from Russia to Ireland. Troops return to a new Ireland.
