SYNOPSIS

Grad Senj staro je naselje utemeljeno prije više od 3000 godina na brdu Kuk, istočno od današnjeg Senja. Bio je glavno središte ilirskog plemena Japoda. Sadašnje naselje nalazi se podno obronaka Kapele i Velebita, a povijest grada Senja dio je bogate sačuvane hrvatske povijesti. Palača obitelji Vukasović, jedne od najuglednijih i najutjecajnijih senjskih plemićkih obitelji, sačuvana je kao bogato kulturno nasljeđe. Građena je na prijelazu 14. i 15. stoljeća u gotičko-renesansnom stilu, i vrhunski je objekt profane arhitekture. Danas je u Palači smješten Gradski muzej, utemeljen 1962. godine kao kulturna i znanstvena ustanova sačuvane bogate hrvatske kulture i povijesti.
