SYNOPSIS

Stari grad Pazin - Pazinski kaštel, prvi se put spominje 983. godine, premda je kao naselje postojao i puno prije. Sagrađen je na strmoj litici iznad duboke Pazinske jame, kraškog ponora rijeke Pazinčice. Pazinski kaštel jedinstveni je primjer feudalne fortifikacijske arhitekture, a osim obrambene uloge imao je i funkciju sjedišta Pazinske grofovije. Ova masivna i dobro očuvana srednjovjekovna utvrda ima dugu i burnu povijest kroz svojih tisuću godina. Od 1996. godine unutar kaštela nalazi se Muzej grada Pazina.
