SYNOPSIS

More than a decade ago, Kevin McCloud visited Brighton to meet a co-operative of 10 families, including former travellers and single parents, who were building their own and each other's homes, with the promise that the council would allow them to live in the finished properties at a reduced rent. For two years they laboured, balancing a 30-hour week with various other commitments. Now the presenter returns to see whether the houses, and the community that built them, have stood the test of time.
