SYNOPSIS

The story of film censorship in Britain, revealing how the British Board of Film Classification has affected film-makers. The programme looks back through the board's archive at some of the most notorious cases in its history, including how it dealt with the violence of Rambo III and the sexually explicit scenes in Ken Russell's Women in Love, and discovers why some films which now seem innocuous were once seen as highly controversial.
