SYNOPSIS

Author and broadcaster Simon Reeve retraces the steps of British pilgrims, exploring the faith, hopes, desires and even the food that helped keep them on the road. In the first episode he sets out on a journey to Canterbury, beginning at the Holy Island of Lindisfarne off the coast of Northumberland, one of the earliest sites of Christian pilgrimage in Britain.
