SYNOPSIS

As surveyors blast the countryside for a new railway line locals are suspicious of the land being disturbed and a young boy, Charlie Thatcher, tells Nathan that he is hearing strange voices - including that of Nathan's dead son Gabriel. Aged Ebenezer Alsop arrives to tell Nathan of a mining tragedy half a century earlier in which child workers were among the casualties. This provides Nathan with a solution but not necessarily a happy outcome to his latest case history.
