SYNOPSIS

A star-studded cast, including John Malkovich, Catherine Deneuve and Isabelle Huppert, star in this lush three-part historical epic. During the Napoleonic Wars, the French army battled the Anglo-Portuguese army of General Wellington at the Battle of Busaco in 1810. Despite their victory, Wellington’s army is forced to retreat from the numerically superior enemy, in order to attract them to Torres Vedras, where Wellington had built fortified lines.
