SYNOPSIS

Western star Randolph Scott hit a winning streak when he teamed up with director Budd Boetticher and writer Burt Kennedy on such gems as The Tall T and Comanche Station. Scott and Boetticher made this one; unfortunately, Kennedy wasn't involved. It's visually less impressive, set in town rather than out in the wide-open spaces, and the plot - which revolves around Randy's feud with local bigwig John Carroll - is rather verbose. Boetticher's eye for strikingly glamorous actresses is evident in the casting of Karen Steele and Valerie French.
