While the dam project will be expropriated, Yellow poplar and Long poplar villages are included in the expropriation. Although this is supposed to protect the confidentiality, a member of the commission sells this information to a holding company and someone in that holding company sells what they heard to another holding company. Thus, the two holding companies hold the roads of the Long and Yellow poplar villages with the intention of buying the land of the villagers at cheap prices and selling them to the state at an expensive price. In the meantime, there is Bayram (Kemal Sunal) known for his stubbornness in the village. Bayram is in love with Zeynep (Selma Yaman) daughter of the Agha of the other village and she feels the same towards Bayram. But Bayram being very stubborn and him and his mother come to ask for the hand of Zeynep on the first Friday of every month from her father, Numan Agha (Ihsan Yuce). Numan Agha does not give the hand of his daughter again and acts violently towards Bayram Because of this, Bayram decided not ask the hand of Zeynep from her father anymore and tells the Agha that one day he'll beg him to marry his daughter. The representatives of the holding company arrive and try to buy the goods from Agha and the reeve at a cheaper price. They compete with each other. When they can deceived others, they cannot deceive Bayram and slowly they're approaching Bayram's prophecy.
