Rezension: Giulia
In this film, possibly inspired by the book “Senility” by Italo Svevo, Giulia is a liberal woman in sexual relations, who does not like to be tied to a single man, and who enjoys unlimited pleasure. Quite the opposite of Emilio, played by the Belgian Johan Leysen, an obsessive, jealous agony, who despairs of the light manners of his object of desire.
The film is a mix between psychological drama, narrated with intensity accentuated by punctual violins, and softcore with situations of sexual encounters that show Serena's carnality in different positions.
There is also a subplot, of little interest, with family conflicts and literary discussions, which matter little or nothing, but which ultimately define the living space as a defining and determining factor of conflicting psychologies.
