The former steeplejack considers building designs of the 19th century. He visits Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire to examine the work of architect Robert Smirke, then travels to St Giles's Church in Cheadle, Staffordshire, to study the Gothic-inspired designs of Augustus Pugin. Last in the series.
