At the Lybian border, the oasis of Siwa is the most eastern settlement point of the Berbers of Egypt, the Issiwannes. Isolated for more than two millennia, they have kept their traditions, their customs, as well as their own dialect. In the middle of the desert, Siwa has a particular archaeological wealth: the oracle of Ammon and the true-false tomb of Alexander the Great.
