POVZETEK

Gideon prejme pismo svoje matere, v katerem piše, da ga želi videti. Gideon poskusi pobegniti iz sirotišnice, kljub opozorilom Hetty, da gre za prevaro. Medtem pa prideta Hannah in Arthur Prestwick po hčer, ki sta jo tam pustila. Matrona trdi, da sirota, ki jo Prestwickova omenjata, nikoli ni bila sprejeta v njihovo ustanovo. Hetty dokaže, da je hči Hannah in Arthurja nihče drug kot njena prijateljica Mary.
