Claudio, who has been married to Sandra for 18 months, takes advantage of his job as an apartment broker to bind himself to occasional clients. The relationship with Nancy, an American bride for some time in Italy, is more consistent and leads him to pretend a business trip for four days. But Sandra, receiving a call from Nancy who believes she is Claudio's mother, discovers his betrayal and in the following days she takes part in the activities of a politically committed group. In the meetings that follow she hears about social and political issues but perceives their academicism. Relations with Marisa, a homosexual teacher, and some conferences based on alcohol, drugs and sex are more decisive than her behavior. The stories of the new friends the shock and the new erotic experiences overwhelm her. When Claudio returns to the fold, Sandra does not make scenes but has become another person: from now on she will retaliate indulging in erotic games with occasional lovers.
