Chinese jeweler Sun Yin Sum is found in his hotel with a fatal skull wound. he was about to buy the Schmandt family's nearby ancestral Rheingau wine estate for his son, final year student Jihn Sun. Schubert has mixed feelings about assistance from Belgian detective inspector Nora Vink, who expects another triad murder in the diamond trade, like in Anwerp where Sum came from.
