In this crime drama series, Ben Miller stars as the eccentric professor and criminologist Jasper Tempest, who unwittingly becomes an advisor to the police. The series begins with Professor Tempest begrudgingly getting caught up in a police investigation when Diana Tyson (Elizabeth Kate Back) is attacked on the university campus. When Detective Inspector Lisa Donckers (Emma Naomi) recognises that the attack is strikingly similar to one which occurred years beforehand, she believes Professor Tempest is just the man to crack the case.
