Lily steckt in einer Sinnkrise. Auf der Suche nach ihrer Bestimmung probiert sie die verschiedensten Berufe aus und landet schliesslich als Kellnerin in einem hawaiianischen Restaurant. Weil es ihr dort auch nicht gefällt, beschafft ihr Ted kurzerhand einen Job in seinem Architekturbüro. Dort sorgt Lily jedoch für gehörigen Wirbel. Indes versucht Barney sein Glück bei Marshalls Professorin.
