It begins at the gardens of the Persian Empire, travels on to the green oases of the Indian subcontinent, North Africa and Southern Spain, before closing with an eye to the future in the Gulf States. The gardens are a vehicle for getting to know and to understand an entire cultural area in all its distinctiveness. The documentary is aimed towards an audience interested in travelling and culture, but is also for those who want to become familiar with the areas of ever increasing importance in the world, their history and culture.
