Aleksey Emelin, the star clown of the Yury Nukilin Circus, is leaving for a nine-month tour of Japan. Luckily, the circus has managed to secure the equally talented Vladimir Deryabkin, who will fill in for Aleksey while he’s gone. The season’s opening performance is today, and everyone has first-night nerves, as there are always last-minute changes.
