Dr. Petter Heller, recently married, seeks to hand over his country practice and leave on world tour. Britta Larsson, still mourning her fiancee Matti since a year and confiding into his ghost, seems unwilling to leave her Stockholm hospital job. During her yearly holiday on a desolate Southern Island Ängelsund, she finds back ex Jonas, who managed to become other ex Rachel's ornithology research partner in Kalmar.
