As the team hold a respectful minute's silence for those lost in the blaze, McAllister is busy finding evidence against a known safecracker, Peter Grace, after the case against him was lost in the fire. At St Hugh's, Rickman and Taviner hold a bedside vigil for Harker, but Harker succumbs to his injuries. Taviner comes extremely close to revealing his actions to Hollis, but Harker's untimely death provides the perfect alibi. Boyden is hastily appointed acting inspector by Chandler.
