Mr Shue and the New Directions travel to Los Angeles to defend their title as national show choir champions, and hopes for success are high as they plan to dedicate their performance to Finn. However, they face stiff competition from the cutting-edge Throat Explosion and their enigmatic star Jean-Baptiste - and when the opposition start to play dirty, it's up to Sam to rally the troops the way Finn would have wanted. Ryder and Jake learn Marley plans to give up songwriting, so they enlist the help of Mercedes to convince her otherwise.
