Virginia is conventional, demure and housebound - nothing like her easygoing, independent and worldly sister Blithe. With little in common, the two have been estranged for years. Following a family tragedy, Virginia is contacted by Blithe, who invites her sister to join her on an unexpected road trip. Virginia reluctantly agrees and the two set out on a life-changing journey.
